I am currently working in collaboration with Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance Cancer Foundation on a portrait project called "PORTRAITS of HOPE". I choose to work with patients currently fighting with breast cancer, not because it is the only worthy cause, but because it most frequently seem to threaten a woman’s sense of beauty and femininity.
My goal is to help these women going through the painful journey of cancer treatment, that they are beautiful, inside and out. I intend to show them that they deserve the love and support needed to succeed in this fight. These women have so much to offer through their stories, and my objective is to capture their true portraits though their brave fight with cancer so they inspire others.
The Cancer Foundation is a wonderful organization that provides support and guidance to our community.
Women who go through breast cancer deal with many issues surrounding their self-image . I want to be able to use my camera to help these women see that they are still beautiful , and even stronger than before. Cancer must not be seen as a “Death Sentence,” but an obstacle in the journey of life. I intend to help empower breast cancer patients through my portraits and I know that in turn, they will inspire others.
- I am coordinating with a local Make-Up artist that will provide a make up service on the day of the session to participating women.
- Sessions are for any woman who has been diagnosed (and are currently fighting/under treatment) breast cancer .
- By participating in an “Portrait of Hope” session, the patient will be given 3 edited/print-ready digital images with written permission to make personal prints. They will also contribute to the collective fight for dignity and resiliency of so many women fighting cancer in our community.
